Charitable Support
The Order of Sovereign Prince Danilo I supports the Prince Danilo I Hospital in Cetinje, founded by the Grand Master of this Order, His late Majesty King Nicholas I, in 1873. The Hospital was the first General Hospital in the Kingdom of Montenegro and continues to provide general and specialist health care to the citizens of the country, without charge, some 140 years later. The Hospital was financed by the auction of foreign gifts and tributes sent to King Nicholas on the occasion of the birth and baptism of his son, Crown Prince Danilo.
